Recognition Rites for Outstanding Performance

This is done in recognition of outstanding scholastic achievement of students in the Dean’s list during the first and second semesters of the previous school year and during the clinical and baccalaureate rites of the graduating class. The awards given to deserving students include outstanding academic performance, clinical proficiency, leadership, and others.

Outstanding Academic/Clinical Performance

Criteria

  1. Academic awards shall be given to students who started their first year in the college for obtaining the highest rank among the graduating students.
  2. Clinical Proficiency awards shall be given to students who started their NCM100 RLE in the college for obtaining the highest rank among the graduating students.
  3. To qualify for the Dean’s List, the student must carry regular load and have General Weighted Average (GWA) of at least 1.75 with no failure in any subject. Moreover, the student must demonstrate behavior which are in keeping with the desired values and norms of the College.
  4. The distinction of academic honor given during the graduation rite is based on the following general weighted averages:

    GENERAL WEIGHTED AVERAGE (GWA)

    Summa Cum Laude
    1.00 - 1.25 with no grade below 2.50
    Magna Cum Laude
    1.26 - 1.50 with no grade below 2.50
    Cum Laude
    1.51 - 1.75 with no grade below 2.50
  6. In case no one meets the general weighted average criterion for academic honors, the student with the highest GWA will be recognized for obtaining the highest rank, provided that the GWA is not lower than 2.0 (86%) and that he/she does not have a failure in any subject.

Leadership Award

This is given in recognition of the student’s ability to lead towards desired co-curricular and other developmental goals as in extra curricular activities. Leadership ability must be evident in the student’s accomplishments (impact) towards developmental goals which are acknowledged by those who have been led, activities undertaken and others. The leadership positions held should be considered but only within the context of the other factors mentioned. The awardee(s) must have shown collaborative skills with school authority towards the achievement of the goals of the College.

Other awards may be given in recognition of outstanding achievements, humanitarian actions, attributes which reflect the College mission/vision.
